Swix XF Vise Review

Swix XF Vise ReviewEvery now and then, you find a product that you buy that will be the last one you ever need to buy of its sort. The Swix XF Universal Vise may have stepped into that category. We may as well just end all of our vise reviews with this one. There’s something to be said about the quality of Swix that tempted us to try these bad boys out.

It’s really important to mention that this is a “family friendly” vise grip. So if you’ve got some skiing lovers in the house, they’re going to love these just as much. The heavy metal build is thorough. The only piece that doesn’t appear metal is the rubber stoppers at the top designed to keep you boards/skis in place. I’ve been through about three of my homebrew workbenches and a couple of pro-end workbenches. It’s pretty cool to say that the Swix XF has fit every one of them.

I really dig the design of these vise grips for holding your snowboard on the edge. On one side of the vise, you adjust the tightness of the “vertical” stand of the vise grap. The metal build further allows you to really get some good stability when working on your edges, or doing some de-tuning.

The other adjustment point on the top of the vise allows you to move the rubber stoppers on the top further apart/closer together. These, in my opinion, give you some better stability when working with skis. I usually keep my stoppers as far as possible from each other to for ultimate stabilization when working with my board.

Overall, these vise grips are some of the best that money can buy. I did find out that these are actually made in Italy. Italy, in 99 cases out of 100, does some amazing manufacturing, and the metal body of these vise grips are absolutely epic. The Swix XF vise grip is going to last you a long, long time, and are easily worth every penny.
